Tina Weitz and Carol Schiraldi will be offering an iPhone (or mobile smart device of your choice) photography class June 10, 2012 in Austin, Texas. For fellow compulsive clickers who want to learn more, be in a creative environment and share artistic ways to use images. This class will be limited to 12 participants.
Class Description: The iPhone and mobile phones have revolutionized the way we look at cameras. Gone are the days of lugging around a big, heavy camera rig, now iPhone (and smart device) photography has made it possible to bring your camera with you everywhere you go. This workshop is designed for you to maximize your iPhone by allowing you to turn simple captures into true works of art. Topics covered include apps you can download, processing possibilities, options for printing, and other ideas you can use to make your iPhone camera pictures really come to life and bear the personal mark of an artist's touch.

Mobile phone photography is presenting new opportunities for artists. Gone are the days of lugging around heavy equipment, there is a new world of "Apps" and small readily available phone cameras. The goal of this class is to explore some of the more popular apps and present new ways of moving a photograph from existing in the iPhone digital world into the art world. We'll cover topics such as printing and making mixed-media pieces from your iPhone images. Students should bring a fully charged Apple iPhone to class and be prepared to purchase apps through the Apple store. Class held in 204E. Limit 12 students.

Living in the "Live Music Capital of the World" has some advantages but can also presents unique challenges for photographers wanting to capture the excitement of musical performance. This class will cover everything from the basics of shooting live performers to advanced tips and techniques you can use to get the greatest concert moments. The goal is to photograph live music venues, concerts, outdoor performances, or other music-related events with confidence. Digital SLR cameras only. Class held in 204E. Limit 12 students.

On-demand publishing has revolutionized the way we can make, print, and sell books and Blurb is leading the way in this dynamic new technological front. Now the tools to make professional quality books are directly in the hands of artists, and printing on demand allows everyone from the absolute beginner to the creative professional to design, create, and sell bookstore quality books. The goal of this class is to complete your own self-published book. Students are expected to work on files and editing their artwork between classes. Class in Digital Lab 204E. Limit 12 students.
